Caulk - tip

I’m a big fan of using caulk to attach cork roadbed and track to the cork. Very quick and simple (and cheap) to do. This weekend I took a cheap (less than a dollar) plastic putty knife, wider than the roadbed, and cut out a very shallow trench across the bottom center. This shallow trench is the width I want to use for the cork or track. Then when I spread the caulk, I get a nice even shallow layer. The process was quick before, now it is more so.

THANKS FOR THE TIP!

Good Idea!! I’ll have to try this. I’ve been laying all my cork and track using adhesive caulk. I haven’t had any problems yet. But this should make it more consistant.
