Cement elevator vs grain elevator.......

How does a cement elevator differ from a grain elevator? Could one be bashed to pass for another? I’m sure there is some differences in the protos since cement is finer, heavier etc. I looked through as many posts and pictures I can find but its seems the camera angle always blocks the shot of the head end.

Could a Rix Grain Elevator kit 407 be used for a small transloader? The towers look the same and it some cases the head end looks close.

Thanks

Ratled;

The large ALPHA Cement silos at Martins Creek, Pa. were modified many years ago to grain storage by Con-Agra. They still stand there.

Thanks X. I am surprised though, that must have taken some scrubbing to make it grain worthy. I would assume that it is do-able from a technical stand point since grain is lighter than cement by volume. I was hoping some might have picture of the head end of a modeled cement elevator head they cold post

Thanks

I do not know if this helps or not… [:S]

They are in fact very similar, different weathering perhaps. Here are some pictures:

The schematics above are from Rosal, an elevator manufacturer and it states: “Siutable for the transport granulates, chemical products, minerals, dusty products, chalks, lime, cement, paint, soils, etc.; the most appropiate design is individually issued for each case.” Check their web page at: http://www.rosal-feedmills.com/en/seccion/1/pagina/16/Bucket-elevators.html

Thanks guys for the info. Especially ReLeader JUST what I needed!!
