Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad

Hi, if anybody is familliar with this railroad, i’d like to know that when do they operate (days/on-duty times) and what freq’s do they use?

Thanks

The Hooch (Pardon me the Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad) is in deepest Southwest Georgia. A line between Georgetown GA and a place about 20 to 25 South of there. It is what is sometimes called Carter Country after the 39th president. Operations however are an area I have no knowledge of. Perhaps one of our our forum members from Columbus or Americus GA can shed some light on the matter

All that I know about them is expressed in the motto that used to grace their boxcars-- “Better By A Dam Site”. I think someone complained (surprise, surprise) and they took that off later cars.

Which, as I recall, was due to the RR’s involvement in the construction of a local dam…

Some people have no sense of humor… [}:)]

From their website…

The Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad (CIRR) is based in Cedar Springs, Georgia, and operates more than 15 miles of track between Hilton and Saffold, Georgia. CIRR connects with CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern. The railroad serves Georgia-Pacific’s Cedar Springs containerboard mill, which is one of the company’s largest and lowest-cost containerboard facilities. In 2004, CIRR hauled 22,770 carloads, including pulp and paper (70 percent), coal (13 percent), forest products (7 percent), metals (5 percent), and chemicals (4 percent).

Yes thanks, i was actually only intrested in when do they usually go on duty, what times of the day do they usually run to Hilton and Saffold and do they operate on weekends also?
