Check out this DCC vendor's new and better website!

Hello guys! I felt that this was worth sharing:

http://litchfieldstation.com/lobby/index.htm

A salute to Bruce for making a major improvement! His two previous websites were, for me, sometimes tricky to navigate.

For you DCC newbies, click on “University” and then check out Major Concepts on the left side of the page. IMHO, easy to understand info on the sub-categories provided.

Enjoy!

I found it extremely slow.

I used both their old and new websites. While the old website was low-tech, I found it fairly easy to navigate around and find what I was looking for. The new one is not quite as intuitive, and sometimes you have to use the search function to find what you’re looking for, because you’ll never find it by trying to guess how to get there from the menu on the left. Probably just growing pains with switching to the new site, that will evenually be worked out (hopefully!).

Litchfield Station is a great dealer, and Bruce and Linda are wonderful to deal with. I have done business with them exclusively when buying my DCC stuff - low prices and great service - why would I even need to go anywhere else? [:)]

As far as good websites go, I actually find www.tonystrainexchange.com very user-friendly and intuitive when trying to find something. It’s also filled with a wealth of information not readily available elsewhere, e.g. there are some good writeups on using LED’s and lamps with DCC decoders, as well as a set of instructions on how to build your own walkaround throttle for a Digitrax Zephyr.

I must say that Bruce is dedicated. I had questions for him and decided to call, but I was unlucky and had to leave a message. Bruce attempted to call me back durring a show he was at but again no luck, we were unable to hook up again. So when I called him on monday he was busy but was able to answer some questions for me. He even called me back to follow up on something I had asked a few days earlier but forgot to mention while I had him on the phone.

Some of the DCC manufacturers should just pay him to be their support guy.

I do agree that the his new website is a bit slow and sometimes you have to do a search to find what you are looking for, but if you call or e-mail they are usually quick with a response.
