I have been trying to get my wife to let me add a new room of the back of the house for a new layout. It would cost me the same amount of money to get one of them minus the cost of moving. How nice would that be, I can see it now my new HO train layout inside a real train car!![:D] [8D]
Just another thought, I wonder if I could hook that up to my trucks trailer hitch and save on moving cost? [:-^] [:P]
I wonder if the minimum radius I’d need for those cars would fit on the layout in the garage?
It’s possible. Michael Tylick said he gets his O-scale trolleys around a 5" radius or something like that.

You guys remember that Locomotive on Ebay last year? That coach would make a great conversation piece in the back yard.
Since it’s two cars you could get a buddy, buy them and you would each have one car.
Just need to put off that next new car purchase.

Darn i missed them. That is crazy. I heard once someone got arrested for trying something illegal on ebay. i forget what its was though.

This item has been removed from Ebay.Most likely a bogus sale . I don’t think Amtrak would have been selling their equipment on Ebay. This must have been from a private owner and didnt meet the muster.
You might want to check out the CSX yard in Waycross, GA. I have been told they have had in the past stainless steel, fluted, and heavy weights from various roads, mainly Souther and Eastern roads. Amtrak I’m not sure. The amazing thing was the price. $5,000.00 to $10,000.00.
You of course have to pay for the car to meet the standards for todays railroad. You know, replacement parts, brakes, hoses, couplers, the simple stuff. Then you have to have it hauled by freight, not passenger, so you can’t ride on it. It is then transferred to a city where Amtrak stops. Then you can attach to Amtrak for the ride. If it is a heavy weight and an extra engine is required for the headend to pull the extra weight, you pay for that. Of course you have had to pay for the milage, use to be a couple bucks a mile, a little more now. And if you have to go throught the mountains, it may take investors to get that one car to its destination.
It’s nice to dream, your own private car, Mine, well it is a repainted, AHM, well detailed; it is a tail car and I’m sitting at the bar, just watching the Woodland Scenics scenery pass by.
