Chicago Great Western Railway Boxcar Fleet

I am after information regarding CGW Boxcars in the 86xxx class, specifically the number series start and finish, any assistance appreciated.

From the Land Down Under.

CGW 86,000-86,998(even numbers only) was a 1931 order for 500 Pullman built cars. They are rather low cars(8’7" IH). They have a riveted pullman ends, and reverse CRECO doors. Page 25 of the CGW Color Guide has pictures. They often are referred to as X-29 copies as they are quite similar to the PRR class.

Your best source, if you can fid one, would be a copy of the Official Railway Equipment Register from the era you are seeking to model; admittedly, that’s a longshot, so I’d try the “CGW” Yahoo group,.
