Christmas stuff

OK ALL you guys who got “BIG BOYS” for Christmas (and it looks like @ 237,000) you have only until July, 2008 to post a notice of this gift. After that date we will no longer accept any acknowledgement of this notice. Have a nice new year.

Ummmmm…what?[%-)]

I hate it when model railroaders snap under the holiday pressure. Happens every year. Darn shame. [sigh]

I T ’ S A J O K E !

So is that as of the end of day of last day of June of the beginning of the first day of July??

We really need to know this detail in order to schedule accordingly!!!

Tatans–

No Big Boy here (wouldn’t have one, anyway). How about a brass PFM Rio Grande L-131 2-8-8-2 that arrived from Caboose Hobbies and looks like it just sat in a box or in a display case for 20 years or so,but after getting lubed and a little TLC just started crawling down the track (open frame motor and all) with a slight ‘whirring’ sound that went away after about ten seconds and said, “Put everything you can think of behind me, buddy and watch me HAUL it!”?

Oh, yah, that and a photo album of N&W big steam from the camera of the great Winston Link.

Now THAT’S a great Christmas for this steam freak, LOL!

Now that’s a joke! [(-D]

Oh, I got it!

The joke, that is. I’m still waiting for the Big Boy! I have one on pre-order from Athearn (N scale). I’m on pins and needles waiting for it!

I have an old Rivarossi Big Boy for which I paid just under $200. I’ve wanted a second one for a long time, but the prices at auction always seemed to go over $300. When Athearn announced a NEW Big Boy with a $275 pre-order price, I JUMPED on it! Would have ordered more than one, but SWMBO would have had a fit!

For Christmas, my brother surprised me with a Bachmann pre-built auto repair building. I wasn’t surprised that he got me something for my trains. I was surprised that he got the SCALE correct!!! LOL The new building will replace the old cardstock building I made as a place-holder. With a few modifications to fit my era and a little weathering, it’ll fit right in!

My youngest son got me a wooden steam loco display piece, a little larger than O scale and smaller than G. It’s really beautiful!

It’s nice when your family recognizes your passion. It’s even nicer when they FEED it!! LOL

Darrell, quiet…for now
