We have announced that the Spring 2026 issue of Classic Trains will be its last as a standalone publication. Instead, Classic-style stories will now appear monthly in Trains. Get the details here: https://www.trains.com/trn/classic-trains-comes-home-to-the-pages-trains/
I enjoy variety of Trains magazine. Glad to have more classic stories in it like before the spin-off.
Sorry to see it go, but at least we won’t have to keep telling posters “no, this is Classic Trains forum - your Lionel question goes in the Classic Toy Trains forum.”
Going to miss Classic Trains, but there are other options out there.
Frankly, Trains has gotten a bit thin lately, hopefully the content will be better.

What will become of the “Classic Trains” forum?
Will it continue on-line?
Or will it be somehow folded (merged - to use a railroad term) into “TRAINS” forum?
I enjoyed Classic Trains very much and was a subscriber from the start.
Here’s another way to look at this situation. CT isn’t about to “come home” as much as it’s a case of a 26 year old who’s lost his job and has to move back home and live with his parent. Hopefully he won’t wind up living in the basement; he’ll make a new start and be successful so we can all be proud of him again.
