First, let me say, “Thank you.” This forum has been a Godsend to some just starting out in the hobby. I participate in forums having to do with my other interests, and they are not as civil and well-behaved as this one.
Now I have a new question. I have taken the easy on-ramp into the hobby–Kato Unitrack (N Scale). I have a basic oval set up with a siding and a rail yard, of sorts. It is all DC so the power-routing turnouts have been great–park on the siding, switch the turnouts, and the train stays parked. However, I am finding that overtime there is getting to be a bit of a power loss on the track behind the turnouts. What is the best way to clean the contact points in order to improve the power transfer?
