CN resumes service, evacuees go home after New Brunswick crude oil wreck

The aspect that is annoying with this derailment…concerning as it may be since flammable materials were involved…was the Headlines the major news sources reported, such as " Crude Oil train derails, explodes " etc. The point is, yes, the train was carrying some cars of crude oil, but also in the consist, since it was a 122 car mixed freight, was propane and liquidfied petroleum gas, which were involved in the resulted explosion / fire. In December a news headline reported " Train in New Jersey derails carrying hazardous material "… well, a tank car slipped off the rails during a slow speed movement on an industrial track, no major damage occured.

The public perception with rail right now is not good and the news sources aren’t helping with improper details in their reporting.
