Coffee Pot #4 APRIL 2013 TEN years [April 1 is Anniv.] and going strong and its for all to chat. Plenty of coffee and sweet ice tea for all. Come and join us and chat. Grits for the Yanks.

I thought about that too Ryan, I will see what I think once Steve drops it off.It is still in his SUV.
It may be too short it is only about 4’ high and I need an ammo shelf… I think the basement thought is it is harder for the bad guys to get them out of the basement but there is also more moisture in the basement. I am thinking of having it in my den.

Kev, if I need my guns at 3AM, I sure dont want to run into the basement…

Whats the wife gonna say about a HAZMAT cabinet in the den?

Just keep the guns in the corner by the bed and the ammo in the night stand like the rest of us hill billys [swg]

WOW I had to get a small fire going in the wood stove to pull the dampness out of the air. After high 80’s all week, this 60 degree DAMP weather feels COLD

Ryan

Oh, you better start believing it because it’s true[:O]. Now, if it turns into a relationship, OK, great. If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t. [^o)]

Good prevening (if you watch Big Bang, you’ll know what I’m talking about).

Working solo tonight. So far so good. Hope to get done before too late.

Evening all!

Beautiful day here today. 60s to 75. Sunny. Sweet! Might get pretty warm this weekend (85?).

LAZ - No Rain, No Rain, No Rain,… (we are due for a nice weather Spring York. It has been years.

Lets see - Chief becomes Mayor: (1) obtains Lakehouse, (2) only works a day or two a week, (3) lots of free meals, (4) he somehow moves the city hall Pergola to his back yard, and now (5) he is writin’/signin’ city checks - not hard to put 2 and 2 together and get 6 in Rosyville…

The thiefs here are so desparate they are now stealing the brass numbers and brass mailbox plates from homes…a while back the City of Dallas had to go stamp “CoD” on all the bridge railings (particularly the AL ones) as they were being stolen for scrap so I guess they are having to go for easier stuff.

Have a great evening all!

You’d think Roseyville was in NJ or CA. [:-^]

Nah, not Jersey…you don’t wear leisure suits or sweat clothes…not enough gold “neck” jewelry either.

More than likely Cali…

WRM, as a scrap yard owner, in PA, its a FELONY for the yard owner to buy with out a letter from the city or other governing authority:

Rail Road scrap (spikes, tie plates, rail, rail clips, empty spike buckets, etc,

Sprinkler heads and fire dept connections

Man hole covers and sewer grates

guard railings

Water meters

Electric Meters

Grave yard placards (especially the veterans grave markers, supplied by the DOD)

Catalytic converters, unless its from a dealer or repair garage

Street lamp fixtures and traffic control devices

and it goes on and on…

Ryan

I understand it’s illegal for scrap dealers to buy a lot of stuff, yet the crooks still steal it. I suspect there are enough unscrupulous dealers out there that buy it at lower than going prices if they suspect it is stolen. They are selling it somewhere.

JEFELECTRIC, your correct. one of my competitors, is doing 10 years in the pokey for just that.

I TRY to run a clean and legal business. some things do slip through, but at the hands of the seller.

In other news, contrary to whats been happening on the home front in the last week, She calmly advised me that she is refi-ing house so SHE can afford it on her own, and my 90 days to vacate have been restarted, as un -till the refi is done, she cant afford it with out me… and cause I am a smart ass Itold her i would leave all my stuff here and just buy it all back at the Sheriffs Sale… OK that was mean…

and since i was recently accused of DUI (not convicted, trial awaits ) I am guessing I will be shelling out at least 8K dollars on that mess. PA state is right, YOU CANT AFFORD IT

so my what was a deposit on a new pad… is well, now my attorneys and the states

This Month can be over at any time

Yeah, mistakes have been made, but i have learned… and old guy once told me, mistakes ain’t worth making, if you don’t learn from them

I know you guys are sick of hearing about my trials and tribulations, but I really don’t have any where else to discuss / vent stuff. I have family around, but i was always an out cast, the black sheep, the guy that wouldn’t take a “professional job” and I really am not up to hear there “I TOLD YOU SO” etc etc etc etc etc etc

between all this and the employee theft issue in February, I am stressed out. I am not too upset about the home front issue, though…

any whoo.

chat later

From what I’ve seen on here since I joined is there are tons of caring people on here. The rest can ignore the post if they have trouble with it. As for me you have my prayers that things turn around .

I like the weathering on some of the items. Did you do them or did they come prepainted that way?

Who knows maybe we’ll be in Ok at the same time one day. [:)]

Thanks for the layout info. I’m thinking I will probably end up with that same foam. They don’t carry much for specialty stuff around here.

I did the weathering on the layout, structures, locos and most of the freight cars. Some of the cars were done by their previous owners.

It would be a very good practice to click the reply button on the post to which you are responding, and then to highlight the text that you are responding to and click the “Quote” link. It will quote only those lines that you have highlighted, and then we can all see who is replying to what.

The above is from Model Railroaders Diner. Sorry I neglected to get the posters name. I didn’t know how to quote from other peoples posts and maybe others don’t either… Also I’m so proud of myself that along with Jeffreys help I figured out how to quote something from another forum.[:D]

Hello all

Long, overcast day. We have an observer on site as well. Decided to come up yesterday w/o telling anyone[banghead] Fortunately, we were able to get in touch w/ him before he actually got here.

Juggling a schedule trying to work in the two operators from our telescope on Kitt Peak. Looks like my buddy John and I from here will be going to help disassemble the new one in New Mexico. So far things look like they are coming together, but as always things are ‘subject to change’.

RJ - Jeffrey is the weathering master. Nothing escapes the pastel chalks for long on his layout!

Jeffrey - cool photos of the layout. Now I have a good idea of its configuration. Keep those photos coming. There great!

Rich - hope they get some stuff figured out for ya[angel]

Ryan - yup, that’s the cat that decided to move in w/ us. First time I’ve ever lived w/ a cat and I like it. And this is a good place to come for experience, strength, and hope. I recently changed my living arrangement due to personal issues so I understand a bit of what you’re going through. The beauty of this group is that collectively we’ve seen just about everything, and together we’ve weathered the storm.

BOC - glad the trees didn’t end up on you.

Kev - we used Husky saws in the lumberyard. They are good units. My buddy who I worked w/ from Alaska to whom I’d entrust my life around a chain saw preferred Stihls though, but I’ve never used one.

Well, if this will be my last full week up here before we go to NM, I’ve got a few projects to finish up.

Good evening.

Just got home a little while ago. Watching click right now.

Guess what? Got an application in the mail for a $40,000 scholarship from C&N Bank today! That’s full tuition! Will definitely apply for it. [:D]

U go Jake !!! [Y] Great news. [bow]
