Dude, we are ALL here for each other, trust me the people here with NO problems are the ones we gotta be suspicious of.
Just got back from dinner with my sister and BIL. Had a sausage sandwich and cheese bread at the local pizza place (owned by my next door neighbor).
Got the divorce paperwork back today, left out 1 address, so that will go back to Trenton tomorrow.
Not much better…but bed time looming soon and I forced myself to stay up. Can’t make it to the NJ Hi-Railers tomorrow, I’m so bummed.
Hey one last thing…my ex girlfriends Dad is in the hospital. He has CHF and has lost a lot of weight. I really would like some prayers for him. I appreciate all the help I can get guys!!
I am still enjoying the almond chicken I had for dinner. [xx(] Nothing like a meal that last a long time. Talked to charlie tonight he is hot to trot for York. TCA & ogr mags are read and filed. Some banilla with chocolate pudding on top sounds good for tonight…S.J.
Zero Export - if you can’t come here and vent then where else are you going to go? Trust me we have all been through something or other, and we have all been here for each other. Somethings aren’t going to change and that is one of them!
I have been fortunate to have found a woman who doesn’t think or act like one. She knows how to communicate - and at times she has to put me in place so I start listening and not reacting - and every effectively at that. We don’t ride each other about every little hick-up. My ex used to nit-pick about everything and was a hypocrit beyond words. TheQ and I often say that our previous marriages taught us what we DID NOT want in a mate, it is learning that which makes finding a suitable (note I did not say perfect) mate possible.
All you young guys out there - pay attention. Just because a girl is ‘fun’, or a ‘friend’ does not mean she will make a good mate.
Got a little cleanup done on the layout today. There’s a few cables, some wire and a computer part added to a box in the closet now. I gave four of the FP7’s a good run this afternoon.
Time for me to call it a night. See y’all tomorrow.
Missed my usual post this AM. Not a good day. Had to have Buddy our 7 year old Doberman put down. Vet said It was Heart/Lung issues. He has been slowing down even more than usual the last while. The heat earlier this week really bothered him and last night it hit him hard. Coughing, panting and he could barely walk. I got him to the vet today but he said there wasn’t much we could do. (My guess is he had a heart attack) Mrs & I are kicking around the idea of another Dobe.(Buddy was our 4th) If we get one I’d like it to be mid June so it is well acclimated before Mrs goes back to school. Danny the Toy Poodle seems lost. It’s only been 13 months since we lost Lucy.
Lots o’ rain here today. We needed it
Hopefully, next week at this time I’ll be nursing sore legs at York. [Y]
Kev…glad you got your loco fixed. I’m guessing either a poor connection at the factory that failed or the heat from running it all gummed up was enough to head and cool the connection and cause a “cold joint”. I wonder how many armatures are thrown out that could be repaired so easily.
Best head t bed. We’ve got a whole beef to wrap and freeze tomorrow. I also have to place Buddy with his predessors under the pear tree up on the hill. (too much rain & mud today)
As predicted, the weekend’s weather has started out great: sunny and pleasant with a high in the low-60s. I’ve been outside most of the day cleaning up the patio, porch, and yard. The grass hasn’t grown too much but enough for a quick clip and some trimming. The patio and porch needed a good hose down due to all the winter buildup. The wife is at the store now picking up some soil and flowers. The Yanks won after two days of rainouts and have seemed to figure out how to win again. I don’t have much else planned for the day.
Banks – I’m sorry about Buddy.
RJ – There is plenty information on layout building on the website and in the forum. You can use the search functions to find anything you’re looking for more information about.
Ryan – It’s never good to keep all that bottled up so share whatever you’re comfortable sharing. Either people will listen and offer support or simply ignore the post, but you’re not hurting anyone so nobody should complain.
Jake – There are countless scholarship opportunities out there. If your school doesn’t have a list, you can find one online or at the local public library. Some of them may not be $40K, but any amount will help. Most of these scholarships are unknown to the masses so they are easier to win.
Mornin’ boys. Still dark and 45 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Middle Princess home for “birthday weekend”, and they all took Wifey out for shopping and dinner. Gonna sneak down to the boatyard in the AM to put some finishing touches on the yatchet, then book the travel-lift.
anjdevil - [angel] for all of your needs.
Banks - [angel] for Buddy…and for you.
Demay - Kinda easy to win when the other team runs itself into a triple play. But then again, CC has the O’s number.
RockIsland - [I] Hey, speaking of which, seems like Crabtown has Beantown’s number(s)…
I really wanted tp sleep in today… but here it is 630 EST wide awake
Jake / lehigh apply for AS MANY scholarships as possible. if your haveing trouble finding them, go see your guidance counsler, thats what they are there for, and you parents taxes pay there salary anyway… use it I just hope your GC isnt as big as butt hole as mine was. Mine told me Votech , VICA and A tech school like Penn Tech were wastes of time and the I would end up being no body. NICE!
Penn Tech is easy to get scholarships for. I got one for 5K from the school for taking 2nd place PA state Champion in industrial Motor control for VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America)
I might get dressed and run into town to the farmers market and get some bacon and eggs and taters
gotta go get truck parts ordered, and hit the LHS to make a payment on my pile of “I want this stuff, and dont have any money right now” [:-^]
And to top it all off, I am batting a million this week, since the truck is down, I have been using her spare car (a mustang)
I went to turn around in the drive way yesterday Am, and caught the turn signal assembly on the three way pintle hitch on the truck, and tore half the grill out , and the headlamp / turn lamp assembly [banghead]
so, we’ll get those parts order today as well…[B)]
It is a cloudy and cool 40 degrees. Going up to 48 today with , maybe, some sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have the usual chores to do and then a train project to work on. I’ll enjoy that until lunchtime. Then, a nice nap. Nascar race and ballgame this afternoon. Indians played a good game last night. And they won 1 - 0.
Cloudy and gray aging today On the North Bluff but they say 70s tomorrow.
Rich, prayers for the friend. [angel] and you problems.
Banks, Thanks again for the help with the Loco. It had started to start out shaky and then would go and acted like that for months. A lot of sparks off of the brushes too but then she just quit.
Ryan, what do they say? If was not for bad luck I would not have any. [:-^]
Sorry to hear about your dog Buddy. They become very close. [angel]
Chuck, thanks for reminding me the race is today.
Well I have to take the wife’s car into the body shop to see what the damages are.[:S]
**Rich…**you have my prayers. CHF…not good. But it’s progression can be blunted with treatment and lifestyle changes and the prognosis can be good if caught early enough. [angel]
**Jake…**I have to agree with the others about going after the scholarships. The price of education has gone up so much that post high school degrees are a real challenge for your generation. You neither want to be forced to skip it or put yourself in a deep financial hole lasting into your 30s to get that degree. The $$$ is there for the taking, but you really have to beat the bushes and cover a lot of bases, stay on it like a shark. Your guidance counselor, as Ryan suggested, is a good start. The money is out there for those who go get it, and you DESERVE a pice of the pie!!! I did not have the $$$ myself either, but the corporation I worked for was willing to pick up the tab 100% with the caveat: I deliver Bs or above and THEN they would reimburse me, took me 5 years at night going to school year round while balancing work and my personal life. If I had it to do all over again, and my parents were willing, I would have lived at home after high school and skipped marriage!!! [:-^][(-D]
**Brent…**just teasing you! [swg]
**FIFE…**please stop goofing off and get the yatchet in the water, for us!!! We will bring the [B] [oX)]
**BANKS…**you have my prayers at the loss of your Doberman, Buddy. You know how I feel about dogs and Dobermans in particular. The loss of one’s loyal friend after 7 years cuts to the core. Don’t know if this is what hit Buddy, but DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy) accounts for over 40% of premature death in Dobermans. It is a silent killer and is not detected by owners and veterinarians until it has progressed to the symptom point. By then you are out of time. You did your best.
Rest in peace, Buddy. You are gone but will never be forgotten. [angel]
Good morning. It’s 54° with 80% humidity. The high will be 78°.
Nothing special planned for today. There’s still more cleanup to be done on the layout. I also need to put my video recorder and cell phone on to charge. The new fridge is doing great. The temp is right at 37°.
We just had a rain shower that came to earth as snow drops. It melted on contact but was fun to watch. Today is club day so I will will do my usual nothing till about 3 pm. Then off we go. I’m not going to tell the ogr guys that I smell bacon frying in the kitchen. Being Saturday they just might be home to make their own. Till late tonight or tomorrow morning, Have a good weekend. . . .S.J.
EDIT: If Charlie post pics tomorrow let it be know to the moderators that our membership is full with a waiting list and we have nothing to sell.
46 currently here. Not sure what the high for the day is but it isn’t spring type temps anyway!
Banks - Prayers sent for your loss. I have three dogs myself. A Siberian husky and two dachshunds. I know weird combo but one big happy family.
Anjdevil2 - Prayers for the ex - gf’s father.
Thankfully all my work is inside today. Moving stuff from one closet to another (should be fun). I’m sure I won’t have the wives stuff right but oh well. Need to work on the light in her closet so she can turn it on.
Moving stuff around in the man-cave to make room for the layout.
If I have time after that I may work on one of the on going house projects. Drinking a couple [B]'s and watching the race sound much better though.
Yesterday, Doray and I had a nice lunch at The Forked River German Butcher yesterday and we were joined by Johnny. After that Doray and I drove out to King of Prusia, Pa for our sales pitch for Sundance Vacations to get our cruise to the Bahamas. The deal sounded good but we already have a timesharfe that is similar, so we passed. On the way home we stopped for dinner at a favorite place of ours, Mastori’s in Bordentown (Rich knows the place) I had the duck and Doray had the tuna and as always it was great. Last night we emptied the freezers so they can be defrosted and today we refilled them. I found the problem that my son was telling me about with his truck and it turned out to be the ignition switch. I will replace it after lunch.
Chief: Roseyville in Jersey: Forget About It!
BOC: Too bad about your neighbor’s garage and van. Glad everything is under control.
Jake: Get that Application in the mail today!
Rich: Prayers for ex GF’s Dad.
Brent: You are right about wives. I lucked out, but look who I have as a Brother in Law! He can say the same for me! [(-D]
Banks: My heart goes out to you and your family over the loss of Buddy.
Ryan: With you when it rains it pours. We are here for you.
Charlie Brown: Enjoy planning the layout and your man cave. Think about making York in the future. It is worth the trip.
SJ: The ice cream is ready. I checked it a little while ago.
