I have a crew in today working on what will be my wood working shop. Just to hot for me to be doing the work… by the time I finish the farm chores it is to hot to do carpentry. And I hate dry wall. Better to hire it done and stay reasonable cool.
Even though I had the holiday break on Wednesday this week seems to have worn me out. I guess it was because it was like having two Monday’s in the same week at work. Got lots of stuff to do right now so see you all on the return trip…
Thank you for the prayers for my FIL, guys. He seems to be doing significantly better (understatement), maybe because he is (1) doing what the Doctors prescribed, (2) has kept his follow up visits, and has a visiting nurse coming in once a week to keep him on the straight and narrow. [:-^] Nah!!! Couldn’t be that, couldn’t be that simple, could it? Yup.[tup] and [banghead] Better late than never…I would tease him about his stubbornness and obstinacy but think I will let that one slide.
Weather? What the other guys said less 5 degrees or so, and for the next two days at least! No rain in the longer forecast. I have been getting up early to get the air-conditioned room temperatures and humidity (and content) cooled down a few degrees before the oppressive heat sets in. Thermostat set at 74 for the time being but may up it a couple of degrees shortly.
Some local guy was in the news two days ago. Seems he went to a cemetary to visit the gravesite of a loved one and came across a tarantula crawling in the grass. Trapped it with a baseball cap and turned it over to someone who is finding an adoptive home for the poor arachnid. The theory is that the spider escaped from someone’s home. Asked the wife if she thought we should adopt it. She was not even remotely amused. [(-D]
Poo patrol on my ranch was completed early this morning by yours truly (by the wife? Ain’t happening) and the weekly lawn mowing soon to follow…heat or no heat. She calls these activities MW…men’s work.
The wife and I were sitting out on the deck at about 7pm last night when she asked me what seemed wrong with the re-siding job (from wood clapboard to vinyl) some workers were conducting on a nearby home. Yup. You guessed it. They were working their way u
Northstar is Northern’s own brand I think. They also sell a trailer to mount it on but you could weld up a platform to mount to the 3 point hitch if you have metal shop tools for a lot less. If you look in the add they show pictures of customer set ups. The transfer load center in picture # 3 is the same one I use…
Good afternoon everyone. Done with my case in early fashion, which is great on a Friday. We got our official notice of our childrens’ Visa applications. We are one more day and one more step closer to getting our kids! Pat, the Northern stuff is new. Just make sure you are there when the freight carrier arrives, as we have had some damaged tractor implements that the best way to deal with are to refuse the shipment. While it is not a frequent occurrence, dealing with large damage equipment can be a pain.
Jack, thanks, I did marry above myself! We are discussing the whole patience thing right now. While it has seemed like each step is taking so long, the closer we get, the faster the pace seems.
I will continue prayers. Hope everyone has a great weekend
Good Friday afternoon - (and yeah, it’s a good Friday, cuz it’s payday…[swg])
Been absent due to lack of computer access…my brother and his wife are in the room with the computer in it.
I haven’t caught up on the pot, just wanted to let youse giz know I was still alive.
Been in the mid to hi 90’s and have had a major fire event once a week for at least the last 5 weeks. And with the heat and humidity, it has been a work out. Opening a roof during a major thunder/lightning storm was interesting to say the least. I’m sure Dennis understands what I’m saying. And July 1st was the anniversary of Hackensack…not a good thing, but we live and learn and move on.
4th of July was fun, most of the family was over. My 2nd God-daughter and her friend went with me to Jamesburg and watched the fireworks. Had 2 calls later on, 1 due to a lightning strike.
Last night had a rescue on the turnpike, victim walked away. Lost a front tire on a E250 van. blew through a guard rail and rolled. Seat belts do work. Also had a fire alarm at 0200, turned out to be a bad CO detector.
Daughter still in FLA…which in my estimation, is not a good thing. My Mrs. called last week (she was, um, toasted), screamed, yelled and cried for 5 minutes and hung up. Hopefully that helped her. Being civil to my soon to be ex is a challenge at best.
[angel] for those of us ill or in trouble or in need. I’ll be by soon I hope.
95 right now and hot and humid. Gee I guess everyone knows that here in the east? Anyway got all the workouts done early this morning before 9, then read paper and clean the whole house. Nice having AC. Gotta pick green beans now for supper.
CHUCK & BUCKEYE, TGIF!!!
BLOWNOUT, Continued prayers. You will beat this thing stay positive.
ANJDEVIL, watch that heat with all those cloths on when YUZ GUYZ go out on a call even at nite the body still needs to breath. Be safe BUDDY.
Today was the first time in my almost 60 years I saw 110 on one thermometer and 105 on the one I trust. Wife and I have been walking through the sprinkler all afternoon. [st]
We got two new phones from Sprint today and would you know one of them will not work. [banghead] [banghead] [banghead] Off to the Sprint store tomorrow, that should be fun. [8o|]
Calling it a night early. Had some storms come through today and as a result there are one or more locations where power connections are having fits. Not bad enough to go completely out but not good enough to keep the lights on steady. It’s my birthday tomorrow and I have no idea what may be going on if anything. See y’all tomorrow.
Today we broke a record …103f with heat index reading at 119F…going to be somewhat the same tomorrow as well
Got the appointment done and the treatment session…then went to check out a few stores in our local mall up here…certainly is weird getting small T shirts and things…used to be XXL…mmmm
We stayed in and had pizza. It was granny’s idea, she didn’t want to go out and I didn’t do anything out there today either. No train news today, I went through the Lionel Christmas catalog but I really don’t get into that stuff. RT that’s a pretty nice AC unit but I thought the Chief still had an ice box. When did he upgrade? I had my banilla but got plenty for the thingy crew. I’ll toss in some A & W…S.J.
**Dennis…**this is fantastic news!!! [tup] I hope you know that my previous, self-deprecating comments about husbands were my feeble attempts at humor, though at times we husbands CAN be a tad…well, uh, er, d-i-f-f-i-c-u-l-t. [swg]
Regarding the serious trials of you and your wife’s adoption process… my Dad would say, “Son, you will find that the things in your life that come to mean the most to you will also turn out to be the things that were the hardest to achieve.”
The High Pressure system that has sat over Colorado for so long causing historical record heat has given way and RAIL is falling in abundance here tonight.
With that, Flash Flood warnings are out all over the place including in the fire zones. Up at the fire zone near Ft Collins, mudslides are occurring and Highway 14 causing a new round of evacuations. These poor folks can get a break even with the rain now…
Howdy guys - 105 again today. We’re hoping for rain this weekend sometime and cooler temps in the 90s next week. DougM - Funny that it’s cooler where you are going than in Chicago!!! Happy Birthday, Jeffrey! Prayers for BoC and for our friends and loved ones. Went out to dinner but ended up going 3 places and they were all crowded. We ended up at Culvers for burgers and frozen custard. TARDIS is ready, so let’s hit the road - some A&W with banilla sounds good to me [:)]
If you convert the recent triple digit temperatures into celcius, it gets a whole lot better. Why today the high was only going to be about 38 degrees C. Temperatures like that, I’d better take a jacket with me next time I go outside!
Got my monster running on the test track with clip leads for wiring:
Further mock up. it is going to be an A-B-A set up:
KEV - Yes, all of the motors will be controled bt a single e-unit. There will be a power pick up in each A-unit, and a 4 conductor cable between each unit. All of the motors are dual axle magnetraction too. I’m planning a MoPac paint scheme.
