Thinking about it, the full-color high-resolution printing of the Life magazine box cars is amazing. It is a completely new technology that is on a different level from conventional pad printing. It is similar to Kadee’s commemorative freight cars. I wonder if the weathering of Athearn and Micro-Trains in recent years is also done with this technology. Does anyone know anything about it?

I got the 47th Presidential car from MTL/Accurail. The printing on the sides is different for the medal and portrait, and there is a thickness to the full color on the portrait. Does anyone know about this technology?
As an aside, it looks like Accurail has changed the box.
