What, no Nehi or Hires???
One thing I couldn’t understand was “Root Beer.” “Root” is the underground stem of a plant, right? What is that? I searched it up and was surprised to find out that it’s a “beer” that even children drink.
I happened to get my hands on “Green River” released by Con-Cor, and didn’t know what it was, but I learned about it here (the thread). I have had 7-Up and Canada Dry. Athearn’s Canada Dry reefer has been on the market for a long time, but I wonder if there was an actual prototype.
The H&M’s US importer was Balboa Scale Models, and the promotional model was a product of Train-Miniature, which had the same ownership as Balboa. H&M was a British…
Still not seeing Nehi.
Nehi must have shipped by truck.
If you haven’t had a good birch beer, you’ve missed something valuable. Barq’s root beer has a proper slug of caffeine in it…
I haven’t seen anyone mention the lightweight replacement for the Oscar and Piker, the Eggliner.,
I’m surprised that I’m not familiar with any of the drinks you mentioned. Of course, I’m researching them.
Our country has a lot of drinks that make me scratch my head when I think about it, so I have no right to criticize other countries. There are many brands other than traditional ones such as AMAZAKE (non-alcoholic), which is made from fermented rice.
I don’t know what the “Inaugural Edition” means, but possibly the car is somehow related to Horizon Hobby.
First off, I did find several of the same car offered on ebay. Here’s one:
Then there is this, if you can find someone to translate:
http://hoscrape.seesaa.net/category/24609377-1.html
You need to scroll down. And if it doesn’t open to the correct spot, click on “boxcar modern 40” on the menu on the left side.
And back around 2004 PPW/A-line /Arrow Hobby offered a white 50’ boxcar with similar Horizon lettering.
Looking close one can see the “hobby” printed below the Horizon…
Now that my curiosity has killed the cat, we can now return to our original programming.
