I decided to use the whole room my railroad is in, so I got Bill The Track Planner to help me out. Top is my old, next is the new. Both are of the whole room.
Outer main rises 3.5" ( 3% grade ) on left, through the mountain.

Very nice, I like it! I’m impressed with your mountain grade, not many layouts around with a good grade to give your locomotives a good workout.

I’m beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.
I like the plan so far. Couple suggestions.
You may consider moving the industries on the left side of the layout to the mountain pass (outer loop). This will give the outer loop a little more purpose.
You can reduce your grades by making the inner loop go down and the outer loop go up and have the same height seperation.

Best!
All the roadbed has been glued down, pretty much keeping it as planned.
Seem to be working for others…?
I have benchwork done, 2" foam glued down, WS 3% risers glued down, and almost all of the cork glued down. I’ll try to get a couple pic’s soon.
I dont plan on huge strings of cars. My plans are running only 5-6 cars at a time. If any more, then I can consist another engine.
