Does anyone know which conrail locomotives had the Quality logo on them and which ones did not? A list would be nice.
Sorry, I cant hear you, can you please speak up?

Conrail started repainting everything in the quality scheme in the 1990s however they didn’t get through all of it before the split, so you’d have to look at photos of the year you want to know what was painted what.
The SD80MACs and SD70MACs were the only engines to get the Quality scheme with the AC badging and white head.
Theoretically anything that Conrail didn’t get around to repainting in the Quality scheme were supposed to at least get a white safety stripe above the trucks and fuel tank but again not everything was gotten before the split.
Cheers!

It seemed to be a bit of everything. While all the SD80MACs and 70MACs were in quality, nearly every type of engine CR owned at the time also wore quality, but not all of them. Many of the SD50’s were repainted to Quality, but even today you can still find some on CSX and NS in the old scheme. Some SD40-2’s, GP38-2’s, GP40-2’s, C30-7’s, 8-40C’s, B23-7’s, 8-40B’s, B30-7’s, B36-7’s, SD60’s, and misc. switchers also wore Quality. The first 8-40CW’s delivered to Conrail came in the old wheels on rails paint scheme, with subsequent orders being delivered in Quality. Variations occured in subsequent orders as well, with the Conrail Quality Q being vey large on some of the Dash 8’s, and very small on the others. Some even had the logo applied backwards!
