Container Freight

I have never seen this type of shipping container before…

EDIT photo [:D]

Japanese Intermodal Container

the cartoon artwork is cool too!!! [8D] What I think is really interesting is that they have doors

on the sides…making them useful for local or shorter runs. No need to remove the container

for access!!! I have seen 1/24 and 1/32 “normal” containers…do any of you know if

there is a company that makes these side door type?

Thanks!

Anime (pronounced: animay) artwork. Bugs Bunny is a cartoon, and yes it is way cool artwork. I poke fun at the distinction as well, but only among close friends.

Kurt

Kurt, I see you are from Ann Arbor…so yeah, I gues you do know the difference!!! There are a few Anime shops up there. Did Whizzywig go out of business…or just move?

underworld

Wow you must be close to know about Wizzywig.

They moved to S. State Street, just south of the Ann Arbor Airport. Just a different location.

Kurt

HaH!!! I get around!!! So I’ve driven past it and didn’t know. Ok…there used to be a restaurant

called The Burro on East William almost to State. They’ve been gone from there for a while. Someone told me they moved to Plymouth Road…but I haven’t found anything. In case you aren’t familiar…they served burritos as big as your head!!!

Maybe you know one of my drivers for my 1/12th scale line…

Misty May driver for 1/12th line

She’s actually a bit tall for 1/12th but I wasn’t going to argue with her!!! [swg]

Found some specs on these containers thatnks to tomikawaTT!!!

Standard JRF (former JNR) containers are (external dimensions)

3240mm long, 2300mm wide and 2350mm tall from the bottom of

the shoes to the top of the box.

Dug up some more photos…going to try to build up a few of these as the only scales they seem to be manufactured in are N and HO.
