Control of Diesel Locomotives

  1. What signals or data are sent or conveyed by all the connections one can see between diesel locomotives in order for the control to be from a single unit (usually the first one)?

  2. How are the DPU units controlled from the lead unit?

  1. TRAINS has published this at least once. I don’t remember the issue(s) and I think one of the Diesel Spotter Guides also has this in it.

  2. Radio. A very secure computer controlled connection.
