I have noticed that, ever since Photobucket upgraded its web site, when I try to copy a link by clicking directly on the link, it seems to be a hit and miss proposition.
Sometimes, I have to click on the link several times before the word “copied” appears, indicating that the link is indeed copied to the Clipboard.
On my computer, the cursor arrow turns into a hand with a pointed index finger when the copy feature is about to be successful. But, it can take several attempts to get this to happen. More often than not, the cursor arrow remains, and the copy feature does not occur.
Yes, I have, but I just work around it by clicking once and then hitting “control C”. That seems to work every time and is less trouble than banging on it until it works.
Yup. Sometimes I have to highlight the whole link before copying, as neither the usual single click nor Ctl+C will do it. As with your experience, I noticed it after Photobucket changed the interface.
I have something entirely different going on, and not just lately…for close to a year now. I get the little ghostly “Copied” flash when I click on the IMG option reliably, but when I go to paste it here I get the full URL with the IMG stuff embedded. I have to highlight all the non-essential stuff and delete it. Then the proper image appears for me. IE9
I often have the problem where clicking on the “img” info gives no indication that the link has actually been copied. However, as long as the picture is finished loading, I’ve found that the data actually has been copied - I discovered that when I got fed-up trying to get it to work and was able to paste the “not-yet-copied-data” into my composition window here.
You can still upload in bulk, but the pictures need to be stored consecutively in your own files. When that’s the case, upload is much faster than with their former set-up…and that , in my opinion, is about the only improvement over the older version.
I’m with you Rich. I’ve noticed the same problems you have mentioned with Chrome. Sometimes Photobucket loads with just plain text and requires hitting the refresh several times. I have also encountered as you describe trouble copying the img tag by clicking on it. Hitting refresh once or twice seems to help.
So don’t feel bad because it doesn’t seem to be limited to IE. Derek
I use Firefox, and the option works for me every time.
As for bulk uploading, I went to the NMRA show in Atlanta, and uploaded an entire folder of pics (Way over a hundred) easily enough. Sure, it took some time, but with little muss and fuss on my part.
I posted a link shortly after the show for those that wanted to see.
I caught on the Technical News, which I read everyday and I run across a story, that is starting to pop up on IE8 that they are starting to have intermittent problem’s with it. If I can get it again, I’ll pass it on to you. I have also heard from some of my friends that have it and they are reporting, that they’re systems are also running slower…
