What’s the secret to bending this stuff on curves???
The cork roadbed is split into two sections and is very easy to “bend” on curves without distortion.
Not easy enough for 027 curves. I slit mine but it was still hard. Any ideas?

Do you have to soak it or cut it at all to make it easier to fit? I will be using 0-31 and 0-42 curves.
just cut small darts on the inside of the curve and it will work fine.
Split the cork, if that doesn’t work then soak the cork, and if that doesn’t work, cut small notches into the cork from the outside of the curve.
Don’t forget to tack the strips down to temporarily hold them in place until the glue dries.

What do you mean by “split”? Midwest Cork comes precut into two halves that need to be separated with the beveled edges turned to the outside. Do I split it again?

You have it right. Spliting the cork in half is enough to bend it. I start on a straight , putting glue down and clamping the roadbed in place with the track as I screw it down. The 2 pieces will slide as they bend and the inside one will be longer. Don’t cut it off, just keep adding pieces as you go. It’s pretty easy once you get started.

OK. Thanks guys!
