Will a CP GP-9 run (as in the same era) along side a CN C-630. Just wondering because I am trying to get my Dad into the hobby again he used to be when he was young. He used to model HO but I am trying to get him to model with me in N scale. Will these locomotives run together?
Yes. The 630’s were built in the 1960’s and the GP9’s were built in the 50’s and many 9’s conitnue to operate as of 2006, so the answer is…YES!
Power from one transcon has been seen on the other sometimes, I’d say that it would be fine! Plus the 9s and Centuries ran together all the time!
If that’s the case, I’d run an AMD103 Gennie in VIA colors on the same layout that GP9. [:D] The VIA paint scheme for their AMD103s looks so nice! (Much better than the Amtrak Phase V paint scheme IMHO).
