The track arrangement in Watertown WI hardly qualifies as a “yard.” At one time it did.
But Portage WI has a real yard, as does La Crosse WI.
Depending on how you define yard there are a couple of yards in Milwaukee. Canal Street, Stowell Avenue, even Jones Island might sort of qualify.
As to south of Milwaukee, it would be stretching it to call the track arrangements in Roundout a yard, but the situation at Sturtevant probably qualifies. Lake (near College Avenue) might meet some definitions of a yard.

Portage and La Crosse are the last two CP yards before they reach the Twin Cities. Portage is a crew change point, and I believe the crews go all the way from Chicago to Portage, and then another crew takes it from Portage to the Twin Cities.
Not all trains make pick up and set outs at Portage and La Crosse, but some do. Many trains though simply pass through, only stopping for a crew change at Portage. It just depends on the train.

The yard in Portage is about 15-20 miles south of Wisconsin Dells, a very popular tourism area. I am planning another trip to the Dells this summer so I will have to go to Portage while I am there.
