Crazy railroad names

I always thought the availibility of more prototype railroads may have caused this to decline actually.

How about what I model? The 100% real “New York, New Haven & Hartford”. A real pain to model a 1910’s-era car (or earlier) that had that all spelled out on every passenger car.

At my club, our fictional RR (named in 1938) is the “East Coast Lines”. Nice and short.

Th’ PUP is what the local’s dubbed my 56 mile, narrow gauge, short line named after its three main mineral hauling stops. The Paradox Uravan & Placerville. Hauling minerals, but mainly Uranium ore from 1939 until 1951.

You get to name a free lanced road whatever strikes your fancy, if you have a decent back story on it. I posted my back story on th’ PUP a couple of years back, much as Mike did earlier in this thread.

Does that serve the Southern University of North Dakota at Hoopelle?
