Created a 3D passenger chassis/interior for the Bowser/Varney Aerotrain!

It was my understanding many years ago that there were foam or thin-rubber diaphragms or blocks that could go between the Aerotrain cars … perhaps the same ‘materials systems’ used for full-width diaphragms on regular passenger cars. Not sure how you’d modify the ‘nub’ system to get flexible pieces to work, but I can think of several approaches.

I had just modelled up these “bellows” for my 1/24 Aerotrain and printed them off in TPU. They were pretty flexi for the large train but would probably be too stiff for HO. Why am I necro posting an old thread you ask? Well I just so happen to have 2 full NOS Varney sets arriving today! Maybe I will try printing a bellows out single wall and scaled down! Of course I’ll have to reshape them now that I know what they really look like lol.

I’m looking forward to detailed shots of that bigger Aerotrain when you get it finished and painted.

Teaser…I will create a thread when I get back to that one, don’t want to hijack Darth’s. Still trying to decide if I want to stick with these filament printed shells or reprint them in resin…

The FDM shells look good to me–by the way, what kind of printer are you using?

Creality K1 Max for filament and a Creality Halot One and Halot Sky for resin.

Oh, I’ve got a Creality also–but mine’s a second-hand CR-6 SE. But I was looking at one of those K1s not long ago–are they reliable?
