I’m sorry, perhaps I am too picky, but I just cannot understand why someone does not edit and proofread the material written for this forum. There are three words left out of the first paragraph alone. The second sentence of the fifth paragraph makes no sense at all.
Agreed.
They will make the same mistakes twice !!!
As to the second sentence in the fifth paragraph, it makes sense if you add an “h” to the word “were,” making it “where.”
Even with “where”, it is still an incomplete sentence, unless you change “using” to “use”. It’s like solving a puzzle in the newspaper!
How do you provide daily service for a one day event?
Wow who edits/proof reads this stuff before publishing? Is this the new Common Core method? The first sentence is missing words; come on Trains this is simple sentence making. I’ve started noticing this poor editing in the magazine as well…
“Conductor to engineer. Six inches… three inches… one inch… Hold it there!”
Has the LIRR restored the Belmont trains on a regular basis?? Spending $4 mil to accommodate a once a year event seems excessive-not that NY ever wastes money…It’s been almost 30 years since I lived in Queens Village, but I recall that trains ran to Belmont every day the track was open for racing, which was a couple of seasons every year-it rotated with Aqueduct and Saratoga. I’m not sure if the harness tracks were in the rotation. Anyway, I recall at some point in the last 20 years that the Belmont service was discontinued, so it would be nice to see it coming back for the regular racing season. Belmont is a real pain in the butt to get to otherwise on public transportation.
