You know, some people are being a bit snarky and calling these CSX locomotives “Half-Heritage Units” since CSX doesn’t go all the way. Personally I’m pretty grateful for them doing this, they don’t have to do it at all when you come down to it.
I prefer this method to the UP conceptual heritage units. Even though the CSX units retain the nose paint, the body closely resembles the heritage line represented.
If CSX did the full unit rendering - they would just be a copycat of the NS.

I said it 100x already, but I think instead of these half-heritage jobs, they should just officially ditch the “CSXT” stuff and adopt the Chessie System name and scheme.

Agreed. There are simply not enough depictions of kittens on today’s locomotive liverys!
Are you truly a RRer if you haven’t adopted at least one kitten you found in a rail yard?
