Anyone cut to fit realtrax? I have a funky spot in the layout, cant seem to get it right. Anyone ever cut realtrax? If so… How? T.Y.
I’ve got a lot of funky spots on my layout and all I use is Realtrax, I always was able to use the different lengths that they offered and made it work with no cutting. Hope you can find a solution but cutting seems drastic and difficult.
When I connected Phase 1 of my layout with Phase 2, I used two adopter sections and cut a length of Gargraves to fit between the two sections. Worked perfect for an oddly curved length section.
When I did my original layout, I cut several pieces of Realtrax. It is not to difficult. I took several pictures of the process and if I can find them, will post here. Found them.
If you have any questions, just ask. The rail joiners are Atlas.
Dremel tool. IF cut too fast, will melt the plastic but still cut it.
I clamped it in a bench vise with plastic jaw inserts and used a fine tooth hacksaw to cut it, much easier to control and get a straight cut then with a Dremel tool.
Thanks! I’m going to try this weekend. By the way… nice job!
