D. P. ?

Hi Guys

I have a couple questions and I thought I would ask the guys who run them. Can the engineer control the rear most locomotive throttles independently? How about the locomotive brakes? Can you keep the slack bunched up useing the rear locos?

Thats all for now.

Thanks

Pete

Yes, with some restrictions you can control the DPU locomotives separately from the headend locomotives. The rear locomotives can’t be in any form of braking while the headend is in power, for example.

Yes we can put up a “fence” and run it independent. As for the brakes (independent) they work wehn you apply the leader and release same time. You just cant actuate. We can apply power on the rear and be in dynamic on the head end. Never tried it the other way ( I am sure my conductor would love to see me play around with that and get a knuckle)

Slack stays bunched real well, I usually just leave it in synchronus mode ( rear does what head end does basiclly) It notches up a few seconds after I do. One RFE says DP makes bad engineers look good. No bangin in and out, smooth on the pick up.Gets your air pumped up in a hurry.

You really should try to put the fence up with the rear ones in a little bit of power and the lead in dynamics sometime, going over any woops (if there is any in your run) really makes it nice.

Thank You Guys

Great info from the best.

Thank you
