DCC Analog combo signaling

Hello Folks,

At our rail club we have invested in DCC. The one thing we have been doing is using one of our cabs for the dcc and the others are the analog channels. Now, the president of our club keeps throwing up “well, I’ve heard other clubs haven’t figured out how to run signals with ananlog and DCC, and all they have is problems” The gentleman in question is a great guy, he just resists change. Has anyone known of success in running a signal system with both types, and where did they start. Thanks,

Ed

NCE and Digitrax both just announced signal systems. Too new to provide additional info. Bruce Chubb’s Computer Model Railroad Interface (C/MRI) system uses a computer for block assignment and it doesn’t matter whether it’s DC or DCC.

Sometimes there are ads in MR for his product. He’s in Michigan and there is a place in I believe Florida which sells his components built up.

He has a couple of books out on Digital/Analog Interfacing.

on my layout, I am using the digitrax bdl16 (16 block detectors in one unit) and this system works with both dcc and dc. I believe I had to change an op swich on the detector, but it was a great investment for around $100.
