DCC Sound Conversion of PCM 581 Big Boy

Hi, I’m going to convert my DC PCM 581 Big Boy to DCC sound and am looking for decoder and speaker advice. It has an 8 pin and a 21 pin connector. Thanks.

[#welcome]to the forum. Perhaps the way moderation works, your post was missed by those that have big boys so I’ll give it a bump.

I assume you have room for a large speaker. Wow Sound Loksound are both good brands. Lately I’ve been getting my DCC stuff from Tonys Trains.

Thanks for responding. The tender has provisions for two 7/8" (22.2mm) speakers.
