I am looking for an good article on hard wiring a steam, diesel, and elecrtric locomotive for DCC so I don’t have to take it to the hobbyshop repair. I want to be able to wire a DCC decoder myself. Where can I find a good article on the web on DCC wiring. I also need to know how to replace the original DC board with a DCC decoder board.

If you have a specific loco, there’s a good chance someone has written about it. Google can be your friend. Or post what it is, and someone may know where to look!
Tony’s trains is a helpful site as mentioned above, I also found the TCS site helpful, lists most manufacturers locos and installation examples, the link is for HO scale which I assume you are referring to but they also have N & O scale pages.
www.wiringdcc.com is also a good one.
