Dead MP-15

My Atlas mp-15 doesnt respond to my DCC system at all. It makes no sound and does not move. Any ideas?

the first thing to check is if it is picking up power from the rails. if it is you may have to reset the decoder back to factory settings with the magnetic wand that came with the loco. the manual will tell you how to do it. i had the same thing happen to my ho mp15 and my proto rs27. in my case the problem was triggered by picking up my locos from the track and putting it back on the track in the opposite direction while cleaning the wheels. this has only happened with my sound equiped locos not with any of my other dcc equiped locos. it may have something to do with reversing the polarity at the wheels even with the throttle set at 0. my 3 n scale mp15’s stop working when the wheel wipers get filled up with lint and cat hair which means i have to clean them.

Ill try that thanks

No luck it still wont move or make sound.

one more thing you could try is to double click on the function 6 button on your dcc system. when the loco is shutdown using function 9 double clicking on 6 turns it back on. also using function 10 or 11 will tell you the status of the decoder through the speaker and what mode it is in.
