I use Extra 2200 for research and proto info- last issue published June 2007- any word are they still around or did they finally give it up? Please advise.
Doug Cummings the publisher is still around. My suggestion is twofold, get ahold of LocoNotes II put out by Ken Ardinger. He used to publish it as a section of Diesel Era, I am not sure which magazine contains it now, but I know he is publishing regularly (at least quarterly). The second suggestion is to join the LocoNotes yahoogroup. Most of the people who submitted to X2200 South are members and not much is missed by this network. These are the hardcore number crunchers.
I believe that LocoNotes is in The Railroad Press each quarter.
This yahoo group may be able to answer my question in my 4/9 thread/topic as to where the exFEC 401 parked on a sidetrack in the CSX yard in Camak, GA is headed.

i used to subscribe to extra 2200 south ,only though i bought a subscription to four issues, this was about alittle over a year ago so to say the truth i do not know if they still are around.perhaps if you check thier website i belive it is www.extra2200south.com.
The magazniens web site states that the latest issue is #130 which was published in June 2007.
LocoNotes on Yahoo, use the search engine, it works.
Iguess I wasn’t patient enough (year plus) Went to my local hobby shop and lo and behold issue #131 on the shelf. So Extra 2200 South still lives. Thanks for all the responses.
