The newest Delta low and I have seen this airline scrape the bottom before in Texas when they served me Kool-Aide instead of soda on a Dallas to San Antonio flight.
Anyways, this is really crappy, Dallas to Twin Cities, lunchtime flight and they pass around a basket of bags of popcorn, granola bars and bannanas instead of offering any meal service. Then I get to see Delta’s new glasses for serving drinks…can’t be more than 3-4 oz, in fact they are so small they can’t put regular ice cubes in them. This is Delta’s FIRST CLASS Domestic service.
Dallas to San Antonio…Delta Coach approx 1998 or 1999, they had a lot of duct tape on the overheads as well. Delta was known back then for flying 30+ year old jets.
See I don’t even have to respond to this as most readers will see your a Frequent Flyer on Delta and your just making a blanket statement…which of course is not true but typical of these forums.
I have not flown Delta recently, hence the shock at how crappy.
OK the chart is what I have been experiencing on American…so American is better and more consistently follows the chart which I suspected and I’ll stick with them going forwards. I’m usually 800-1200 miles one way.
Interesting that Dallas to Chicago is an exception and they are continuing on with hot meal service on those flights.
I stand by my statement.
“Hot meals on most flights disappeared 15 years ago this month.”
One used to get a hot meal in coach on longer flights.
I think we have to thanks airlines like Virgin America and others who have helped raise levels.
And yes there was and still a lot of duct tape on the planes. Delta has one of the oldest fleets and they keep adding second-hand planes. https://www.quora.com/Which-airline-has-the-newest-fleet
Dallas was much better on Delta when it was a hub city.
Now that the Wright Amendment https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_Amendment has ended you should look at flights out of Love Field (DAL) if it is convenient. Virgin American operates many flights out of there.
Oh, and yes I am a frequent flyer (I think saying I fly 150,000 miles a year covered that in my O.P.) And I apologize for my blanket statement, but we have seen a steady decline in service in exchange for low prices in the US. One just has to fly an Asian based carrier to see how much we put up with.
Hope you have a better experience on your next flight.
