KUDOS to the people at the CRM, there is no such thing as having to many operating Steam Locos!!

I took photos of her sitting dead at Alamosa by the remains of the old D&RGW roundhouse in 1971. TRAINS had just recently done an all-Colorado narrow gauge issue, with a great story about a blockade on Cumbres Pass during the winter of 1963. The 491 played a prominent role in the tale. I always hoped she would have another shot at steaming again. Bob Richardson is surely smiling down at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Good work, boys.

I saw her there about 6 weeks ago and there was so much yet to be done I was sure we were looking at next year sometime! Great work, fellows. Unfortunately I have a long-scheduled conflict and won’t be able to make the event.
