Denver Union Station

I just finished building my first kit Denver Union Station. I think it came out really well. I used to build car model kits when I was young, so it all came back to me.

Here’s my version…
(I wonder why the amtrak cars have no loco? whoops)

Here’s the real one:

(ran out of sheet styreen, need to finish the sidewalks)

And here is the mountain tunnel I just finished, next step is getting trees!!

My newbie layout is coming along pretty good.

Thanks,

Michael

I like the night shot! Good work, Michael [tup]

Looking pretty good Micheal, how big is your layout?

Ken

Michael,

Nice work! Show us more photos of your layout.

Rich

The station looks really nice but I have a question. How do you reach a train stranded in the middle of that tunnel? Does it lift off?

If you look you will see Micheal as panels on both sides that lift out.

Ken

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the good feedback. There are two removable sections of the rock wall for access to the track.

The main layout is 12’ x 15’ and the extension room (in planning stages) is 9’ x 9’.

Some more pics!!!

Laying track for the Ethanol Plant

Thanks,

Michael

Ahh,

You are making some very nice progress. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Rich

Sorry I can’t resist. Here is “my” Denver Union Station. Actually it is not “mine” at all, it is the clubs. It was kitbashed from two Heljan “Bohn Station” kits together by Gary umm Gary umm can’t think of his name now. Anyway This was built 20 years ago before the cool lighted travel by train sign on top came out. I did not even notice the “L” and “by” were missing when I took the photo. I think maybe we should buy one of the electronic ones and fix it up. The people who developed the 16x20 print of this asked where I got a color picture from so long ago… They thought it was the real station. This photo is on display in the club room:

Holy bageeeeezus, that is AWESOME! My sign is better, haaaa!
