Everything looks good so far. No damage. I just saw a Wisc&Southern mixed freight from my front door. The tracks are behind my neighbors house (across the street) and in the woods.
Mookie - Is the fishing pretty good down there?? Just wondering as i am tranferring to the University of Wyoming down there next August and would like to wet a hook somewhere new! Aslo, Is there any good train watching down there?? That was the last thing on my list too think of when I was down there this summer.
Fishing seemed to be better this year ( I wasn’t there!) than in the past, since they finally got some rain. They wouldn’t let me train watch, but I know the UP is around there somewhere. I couldn’t get my head out of the scenery long enough to really go hunt. Still want to get to North Platte - which should be fairly close to you. Hear there is great train watching there!
Sounds good,I’ll try some[dinner].
Elvis’s PB and banana omelette sounds interesting.I’m usually not one to try new food, but this sounds like it might be good[8D].
Back from the 25-mile bike trip (cut in two by a safety meeting). It was about 20 degrees when I started out this morning, but the second half was a bit nicer, albeit against the wind.
CW, we have a nice soup recipe that calls for a pound of browned meat, carrots and celery and onions, a portion of a mixture of dry stuff (alphabet macaroni, rice, peas, lentils, and barley), and a bottle of V8. Tonight, I’d like it to be spiced up with taco seasoning! The diner will look a lot like my daughter’s house!
The UP runs right through Laramie. Hard to not see trains there. I visited the U of Wyoming a couple of years ago and saw quite a number of trains on my time off. Sherman Hill is just a few miles to the east, and the yard at Cheyenne is fun to visit.
I was thinking more like some of Bro Carl’s V-8…with a little tobascco, some garlic, a dash of worsteshire and lemon juice, some crushed black pepper and a couple of cocktail onions and garlic stuffed olives…
