Digitrax UT6 IR Operation Help

Hello, I have a UT6 throttle and a UR90X panel. The IR dialog works correctly, but if I want to change the locomotive number, I have to reconnect the Loconet cable to the panel. Once changed, I can unplug it, and it works correctly.

Can I change the locomotive address without reconnecting the Loconet cable?

Selecting a new address with Digitrax throttles requires the D as in Duplex suffix for the throttles and receivers. I started out with Digitrax throttles in the early days and I always had to plug in to Loconet in order to select a new address.

Digitrax quit supporting the older simplex throttles a few years ago. Everything they offer now is Duplex.

Duplex or not to Duplex (Digitrax)

I am building a larger basement layout with 3 power districts and need to get a few more throttles… So the question is, should I stick with the radio throttles or switch to the duplex? Throttles I have now are UT4R (newer), DT300 and a DT300R that doesn’t seem to work, That’s why I’m looking to get more throttles. Plan for the layout is to use most of my basement 24x28’ and I currently have 3 of the UR91 radio receivers. Thanks for your input… Don www.carmancraft.com for pictures and track plan
