DM&E / CPRS Decision Status?

I don’t recall that the STB has ruled yet on the DME/ CP proposed merger / aquisition. Is that still pending? If so, does anyone know when that ruling is due?
Thx

I “think” sometime in October?

I am pretty sure it is due late this month. Normally if approved CP could takeover exactly 30 days later.

It looks like Rochester/Mayo has shifted their primary focus to objecting to the transport of ethanol and other hazmat through Rochester.

So let me get this right Mayos IDIOTS and Rochestor want this whole merger blocked over 8.25 cars of Ethanol per day that will be coming thru there.

GIVE ME A FREAKING BREAK ALREADY.

Why won’t they come out and say it already they just hate the fact that the trains run thru the town and cut of space for the hospital to expand into.

If I understand this correctly, Mayo had based their mitigation request on the railroad hauling Powder River coal, but the decision to develop that purpose has been put on hold indefinitely. So Mayo does not want their mitigation request to go on hold with the coal hauling decision while CP ramps up traffic other than coal. Apparently there is great potential for increased traffic in the form of ethanol transport. The report cites anticipated ethanol traffic of several thousand cars per year through Rochester. So it seems that the RC objections are now directed to not only the hazards of hazmat, but also to an increase in rail traffic that was not expected unless it was related to the transport of coal.

But, as I understand it, RC is not asking the STB to block the sale. They are only asking for mitigation to be a requirement for the sale. And the mitigation does not sound that difficult to provide.
