I was wonderin if any of ya all railfans hunted or fished i have been involved with trains, modle railroading and hunting and fishing all my life they all are great hobbies, Since im only 16th one day i plan to be an engineer on the BNSF.
I don’t hunt or fish but I do a lot of target shooting in between trains when I can.
Hey
I’ve been shooting ducks and pheasants, and using a bow on deer, for many moons now. I’m glad you have varied interests in life.
I wish my 16 year old son had a definate plan for life, like you do. But, keep thinking about it, and researching it … its OK to change you mind.
Jim
I “hunt” for bargains, and “fish” around for ideas, does that count?
Target shootin as much as I can, usually try to go hunting once a year.

With my “no hand-eye coordination” driver won’t let me do either. Won’t let me shoot pool, either.

I hunt for trains and fish for compliments. Otherwise, no on both counts.
There are some great places in Colorado where I can fish and watch trains at the same time. Life is good!!
My saturday morning ritual:
7:00 Wake up
7:15 leave the house
7:20 Arrive at Kelly’s Convineience store to buy worms and a pepsi.
7:25 Arrive at the Pond
7:30 - ??? fish and watch the local Progress Ral services switch cars to repair.
I do also hunt, no real good luck though Havent shot anything for about 4 seasons now.
deshler has a resivouir by the southeast wye track(which is the buisiest of the 3).guys go fishing there all the time.one guys son caught a big one. they let it go before someone could get a picture.I was more than willing to take a pic for them.
stay safe

I’m an avid hunter. I took up archery hunting almost 6 years ago. Now my free time in the fall is spent in the woods hunting rather than making my trip to Sand Patch for fall photos.
I still fish from time to time but not nearly as much as I once did. I prefer fishing Wills Creek since it provides good fishing and train watching along Sand Patch grade.
Good luck in your quest to become an engineer for BNSF.
How do you make a bridge with a paw??
I do like to fish, haven’t done it for awhile, should get back into it soon. I do have a compound bow, have to get the arm back into shape again to do target practice.
Randy
Hey thats cool alot you like to fish and hunt, my favorite place to hunt is at the top of this one draw where you can look around for miles, there is also a good view of the BNSF’s emporia subdivision form there[:D]. I am into bowhunting and i am a member of the Kansas Bowhunters Association. I hunt with a recurve. I do have one place to fish by the railroad tracks though. My dad is a Taxidermist so if i get anything fishing or hunting i dont have to pay to get it mounted[:D]. Well heres a pic of i fish i caught i caught by the tracks

I hunt FOR fish.
I do my hunting and fishing in the supermarket.
And only if I have to.
Hi and welcome to the forums. It is nice to know that there are other people on the forums who are my age.
Yes I do hunt and fish. Usually I fish for dolly varden and trout and in the late summer I fish for salmon. I hunt for deer, rabbits and grouse.
I hunt and Shoot alot…with my camera!!!
Trains are the number one target but I also hunt but try not to “fish”. I’d rather “catch”.
Daniel

earnhardt liked bass fishin and huntin .i still miss the 3 car
Neither. If you are ever in San Timoteo Canyon in southern California, there is a stocked lake not far from the tracks called Fisherman’s Retreat. Not very exciting fishing but many UP trains.
