Has anyone come across a detailed engineering description and timeline for the recent “revision” of the Dock Bridge project?
All the stories I have seen appear to be variations on one or two common press releases, or misunderstandings of what the details of the revised version involve. The single big change appears to be a Coast Guard permit that would permit the bridge to become ‘fixed level’ – which I interpret as permanently lowered, made immovable, and the lifting gear at least disconnected.
This is the bridge immediately east/north of Newark Penn Station, and everything on the NEC that runs through the revised Gateway plant operates through it.
