Does any one have the freq's for Milwaukee Wi

Hi I was wondering if any one has a list of RR freq’s for the milwaukee area and also
if you know any hot spots for train watching or any spots where. I could take some pictures of trains as they come though Milwaukee. One other question does any one know the fate of frederat malt over on 43rdst. The last time. I went past there there only about 2 or 3 dozen cars left when at one point there used to be hunderds of cars and consit switching with always diffrent engines. If anyone knows these can you please tell me or send some info over to me. [:D][4:-)][#offtopic]

Greetings,

Here is a list of Milwaukee Area RR frequencies that a friend of mine compilied. It is quite complete.

As far as “hotspots”. Alot of local railfans, myself included hang out at Waterford Ave which is on the southeast side of Milwaukee. This is a grade crossing on the CP (ex-Milw Rd) mainline. There is a nice curve to the north. These tracks probably see 20-25 freights a day, plus Amtrak Hiawatha’s and the Empire Builders. Waterford Ave is about 4 blocks north of Layton Ave just east of 13th Street. For the UP probably Hampton Ave which goes over Butler Yard would be the best spot. However they are rebuilding the bridge. Otherwise the UP line goes through West Allis, WI with numerous grade crossing near 55th Street and Lincoln Ave. The UP line probably sees 10-15 trains per day, including Roadrailer trains almost everyday.

As far a Froedert Malt, they still get about 2-3 dozen cars. Now with the local newspaper new plant right there, they also receive newsprint by rail. However one of the elevators on the line is being torn down.

You may also want to have another WSOR channel programmed in 161.145 Most of the time they use the other channel, but once and a while when there is interference, they will use the second Channel, known as “Channel two.”

One of the other hotspots I’ve heard alot of people mention is Duplainville. I was there once, but I wasn’t all that impressed, I only saw one train and we were there almost two hours.
