please help we found this train at trade days in tx and all we can find on the cars is the company mar toys and made in the USA, and it says new york central on some of the cars and most of them are tin.
can anyone help with information.

The MAR is spelled over a large X spelled MARX. The Marx Toy Co. Ever hear of it? The Founder was Louis Marx. Here is a link. Marx Trains

Was he related to Carl Marx or the Marx brothers?
I haven’t seen anything saying they were all related, but it’s possible. Karl Marx was a German born Jew, the Marx Brothers were born in Brooklyn NY of German-Jewish parents. Louis Marx was born about the same time as the Marx Brothers (1896) also in Brooklyn to a German family…but I’m not 100% sure if he was Jewish?? His daughter was married to Daniel Ellsburg, author of “The Pentagon Papers” by the way…
With genealogy you can go back generations to find out how they are related. It depends if it has been researched. I am sure there are a lot of Marx families. I can tell you most of French Canada is related to Celine Dionne. You just have to reseach it.
