Does anyone have colouring details for a CN K5a 5700 class Hudson

I’m in the process of painting my CN K5a 5700 class Hudson and despite my library of CN books I still have several questions on colour detailing.

Was the front of the Cab Grren or Black? some B&W photos suggest green.

Was the section of the boiler under the smoke stack black or graphite? Photos suggest both but this could also be a build up of carbon, scale or rust.

Any help and guidance would be appreciated as this will be my second (I’ll be painting the first attempt at the same time) attempt at painting a brass Locomotive.

I found this link and I think I have my answers. From the several pictures I have I think she might of gone through an evolution of sorts as her pilot wheels as shown are open as apposed to the model I have the bearings on the outside.

Good luck,

Fergie: There were 2 designs of pilot truck – outside and inside bearing. I think that the first few locos had outside bearing and it was changed to inside. I don’t know full details.
I googled “CNR 5700” and found a pile of web sites, some of which actually had loco pictures.
