Donner Pass week long Maintenance window

So, Amtrak has been terminating the Zephyr in Reno since the 16th and will continue through the 23rd, BNSF is being detoured at Klamath Falls onto the Valley sub and all(or at least most freight is moving over FRC.

According to one of the interpreters on the Zephyr, They are doubletracking Switch 9 to Shed 10, but an article in the Auburn Journal from April emphatically states they are not and google struggled to find any references to the work.

Anyone know what is going on? Is it the TRT on a single track section? Are they preparing for double track?

If they are planning double track, they’ve kept it secret.

Far as anyone knows they’re putting in ties and maybe some other work in Tunnel 41, the two-mile tunnel immediately east of the summit.
