door hinges for scratchbuilt door

anyone have any ideas what to use for hinges on a scratchbuilt door?

Check cabinetry suppliers or local hardware store for hinges for jewelry boxes, or curio box lids, there are hinges that are very small and could work for a doorway. Also try dollhouse suppliers.

Hi there,
Welcome to the forum! Visit your local hobby shop that sells supplies for R/C planes. Ask for nylon hinges used for rudders, ailerons, elevators etc. They come in various sizes. All that is required for install is slotting the door and hinge post with an exacto knife. Hope this helps! Enjoy the forum. Later eh…Brian. [8D]
Almost forgot…in the future you can post questions like this under the “Scratchbuilding and Kitbashing” forum. [:D]

Check out the “DOLL HOUSE” section of the local Hobby Shop or try the local Dollhouse Miniature shop, you also may want to check out Ozark Miniatures.
Hope this was a help,

I got some recently because I thought I’d eventually find a use for them. They are clear plastic hinges with a steel rod.I found them in my hobby shop under the radio control cars section.I’ll dig the packaging out later and give the manufacturers name
Troy

Hi Troy,
That would be what I mentioned earlier. Could be made by Sig Mfg. Ltd of Montezuma, Iowa. At least the ones I have are. [:D] Neat little hinges for doors! Later eh…Brian. [8D]

BTW, the hinges I was refering to are the very small decorative brass ones for jewerly boxes and such that when blackened look just like wrought iron.

Soak in a solution of dilluted muratic acid for bronze effect or antique.
