Seems like the newbie trend is to either:

  • make one post and get us all involved and not respond.

OR

  • make a plethora of fantasy posts and manage to get us all involved, but never follow thru with anything.

Maybe I scared him off.

I’m beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

And not even a “Thank You” which is pretty durned rude. [|(]

Hello All,

“Ghosted” again!

Hope this helps.

Note that the original post was made on a Friday afternoon/evening, but probably didn’t appear until Monday. It appears that only Kalmbach moderators (not the volunteers) are able to approve new members – and they don’t work weekends (which is not unreasonable). So I think that some folks give up on this forum after not seeing their post appear for up to four days (Friday to Monday). It might be worth deputizing some volunteer moderators to approve new members over the weekend.

Of course, still other newcomers are looking for instant answers, not thoughtful questions, so they might not feel that their needs and interests are met by the first flurry of responses.

We can probably all help a little by watching for – and trying to respond to – first-time posts when they appear on Monday mornings.
