Korber Models is back producing O-Gauge structures and detail parts. I recently picked up one of there water tower kits to use as an addition to my Atlas Engine House.
This kit is HO, making it well suited for rooftop tanks or off in the distance stuff.

The kits come with detailed instructions, not a lot of witchcraft and in this kit, the parts are all separated. I inspected the parts for fit and there are hardly any spurs or flash in need of cleaning up. This is pretty much ready to assemble. I’m going to prime it and then go with a rusted look on the framework and perhaps something unique on the tank itself.
Here is how I am going to use it – as a rooftop supply on an Atlas/IHC Engine House. I am of the opinion the size is just right. The base is primer, with flat black over it and then streaks of rusty brown and Tuscan on top of that.

I cut off most of the framework, which I will find a purpose for - even if just trackside clutter. I drilled a hole in the engine house roof so the supply is going inside and used black clay at the points where the structure meets the roof.

A little extra touch like this goes a long way in making your structures more interesting.
