Drew’s Trackside Adventures: Episode 12 - Alberta, Canada
Great job Drew! One might even say “awesome”. I love watching trains in Field, B.C. I think I have stayed in the same place you guys did.
Great footage north of the border. Elk are awesomely cool animals. Looking forward to more.
Really nice videos. I like the shots that are “thinking outside of the box”. I still tend to be a photographer who believes in “bright sunlight over my shoulder” but your videos show that there are a lot more artistic approaches that yield great results. Keep up the good work. A few videos just on “how to” subjects might be nice also.
Drew this was a really awesomely cool episode. I really liked the shots. great locations and good photos. I liked the addition of the wildlife to add a little variety to the episode.
Repeating words like awesome and cool is just your style so why try to change it. I think it is your way of expressing that you like the view, the trains, the awesome shot that you just got! so keep up the good work and use awesome as much as want! Looking forward to seeing the CN episode!
Best video so far Drew! Had Kent been to this territory before he started his layout? He must have been in heaven.
I just going to say it, that was AWESOME!! Fantastic video.
Hahaha Nice “out-take” at the beginning of the video…or was that on purpose??? Excellent vid.
Try stunning instead of awesome, cool, or fantastic!!! This video was stunning!!!
Drew, Great video of my backyard - as I live in Calgary. Thanks for showing the spectacular scenario in Alberta/BC. One note though - Banff is in Alberta, not BC. That is a beaver in the river. Otherwise an awesome video. .
Great video and excellent, awesome, still photos. It was worth the wait for Part 2 Drew, and lookin forward to your next cool video.
I lived in Alberta for 10 years and spent many hours watching trains wind through the spiral tunnels. Fantastic footage Drew, well done. I think that the critter in the water might have been a muskrat, it seemed small for a beaver.
Thank you everyone! We’ve come quite far since Episode No. 1 and I can’t wait to see what this year brings. I appreciate all of you, and your feedback is priceless.
Regarding the “water mammal”… we’re split between beaver and muskrat here at the office as well! haha
Gary, I agree. I found myself bumming because of the lack of sun on this trip, but looking back everything turned out just fine. The clouds actually help in many instances, opening up all angles and pushing the creativity level. The scenery does most of the heavy lifting too, as I’m sure guys like Garry H. and David O. can attest.
Hello Drew,
One of the best, and my favorite trackside adventure so far.
I had the opportunity about 12 years ago to go to that area. I was working for an outdoor adventure travel company and got to spend a week in the Golden area, staying at a local lodge just outside of town. We were picked up at the Calgary airport and remember the drive over the Rockies to get to Golden. The area is spectacular! I was able to convince the driver to stop at the spiral tunnels on the way over to Golden. Another day we rafted down the Kicking Horse River back to Golden, and saw a few trains while rafting.
You may not have got too much sun, but when I was there in June 2002 the weather looked about the same. Also, It was great that you were able to get away from the road and shoot the trains from some interesting angles. Anyway, I appreciate the mountain railroading videos. Come out to the high sierras and watch some trains crossing over Donner sometime!
Wonderful video, Drew! Thank you! Gotta go to Canada, now!
Excellent DREW! What beautiful scenery. I wish I could go on one of those trips.
Great video, I live and Kelowna B.C. and have been to most of the places you showed in the video. Well done. As good as it was you will admit that theres nothing like being there. Loved it Thanks.
Drew,
How about the word “Wonderful”. I was awed at the scenery, thanks for a job well done. You aced it. Wow is another word which fits alongside “Awesome”.
Looking forward to more adventures but you will have to do a lot to top this one.
Fantastic!!! Brings back memories of my trip to Canada, although I rode on the Rocky Mountaineer so I didn’t get to the photo spots you did Drew. Keep up the good work!
Drew
Great video - I think it is the best so far - the scenery is spectacular!
